Johan and Jhon became fast friends over the last few days. Jhon's Dad and I agreed it was good for both of them. Thursday afternoon we all went to the park and the boys threw the baseball around. I think it was the first time Johan had ever worn a baseball glove. He was very proud that he had his Dayton Dragon's baseball - it's one of the few possessions they let him keep. After tossing the ball a bit we went in search of ice cream (evidently Jhon was in the habit of going to the park and getting ice cream every day!). Friday morning Jhon's dad had to go to the Embassy to pick up the Visa so Jhon and Johan played all morning. In the afternoon we took a walk to UniCentro which is a huge shopping mall - American style. They have everything. We wandered around there for awhile then stopped by the park on the way back. It was good to get out and about.
Jhon and his Dad headed home to Minnesota today. We hope they have an uneventful ride home. Jhon has some challenges and he was not too happy about the idea of traveling today.
We were hoping to hear from Helena Friday morning that she received the paperwork we need in order to file for Johan's Visa. She called at 2p.m. and said the paper arrived but the appropriate person still had not signed. They promised to have it waiting for us at 8:30a.m. Monday. So Monday we will go to ICBF to pick up the paper then direct to the Embassy to file for the Visa. If all goes well we pick up the Visa Tuesday morning and fly Wednesday.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend.
