Home Sweet Home!

We made it! Things went fairly smooth. I was a little concerned at the points our documents were reviewed but we passed with flying colors. We had a document signed by Tom and notarized giving me permission to take our son out of the country. I had to show this three different times to various individuals. Each time made me nervous. We also had a fairly tight connection in Atlanta - an hour and a half - normally this would be plenty of time but we had to spend some time with Immigration to get Johan's paperwork approved and passport stamped. So as soon as we hit the ground I told Johan to kick it in gear. We hustled and made it through rather quickly.

Last night we stopped for dinner in Tipp with Nana and Tom then headed home to a big welcome home sign courtesy of Tia Lee Anna. Johan was very excited.

So Johan is officially a US Citizen! We will go through a re-adoption process here in the States in order to get him a US birth certificate (makes life easier in the future) and we'll file for a SSN and get him a new passport to put everything in line. That will all come in the next few months after we receive some paperwork from the Gov't. Right now we're focused on getting settled and getting him enrolled in school.

Have a great day,
Carrie
